Fried Karela Recipe

 600 g Bitter gourd
 2 Onions
 3 Tomatoes
 4 Green chilies
 1 tbsp Red chili powder
 1 tsp Turmeric powder
 1 tbsp Cumin seeds
 3 tbsp Lemon juice
 1 tbsp Ginger & Garlic paste
 2 ½ tbsp Salt
 1 Oil

To make Fried Karela first, cut the bitter gourd into medium size and then add 2 tablespoons of salt, rub it with your hand for 5 to 10 minutes and leave it for minimum 1 hour.

After an hour wash bitter gourd with water and keep it aside.

Put a nice nonstick pan on medium flame and add oil, when the oil heats enough, add sliced onion and cook until it becomes brown. Take out fried onion on a plate, in the same oil add green chili and fry for 5 minutes and then add bitter gourd and fry it over medium flame until it turns into nice golden color.

In remaining oil add cumin seed stir it for 1 minute then add ginger & garlic paste. stir it for a minute. Put chopped tomatoes and cook for 5 minutes then add all the spices (red chili, turmeric and salt) mix it well. cook until the oil oozes out.

Place the fried onion, green chilies and bitter gourd into the pan and por the lemon juice and mix altogether. simmer for 10 minutes over low flame.

Amazing karele ki sabzi is ready to to serve.
